Cholesterol Good or Bad? by Dr. Carol Ann Fischer, DC

There is a lot of confusion about cholesterol. Cholesterol is what the liver makes in order to   enable us to handle stress, the sex hormones and to reproduce. Cholesterol is an essential component found in hormones that also helps form the brain, bile acids, vitamin D and the steroid hormones produced in the adrenal glands

It has other functions including protecting blood vessels from inflammation. When blood vessels are inflamed they can spring a leak, causing a heart attack or stroke. Cholesterol is the way the body protects the blood vessel lining. Too much inflammation will result in excess cholesterol build up inside the arteries, creating another issue.

The solution is to reduce the cause of the inflammation. Inflammation is created by the Standard American Diet, or SAD for short. The SAD food list is high in carbohydrates, high in sugars and high in trans fats, all items found commonly in American fast food.

If your diet is good, but you have high cholesterol, your liver is probably having issues using the cholesterol. High blood cholesterol indicates that there is an inability of the body to correctly manufacture the needed hormones and vitamins. The solution to high cholesterol is to repair the digestive tract, and the organs involved in fat metabolism, the liver and gall bladder.

To determine if your fish oil is fresh, freeze it and then cut it open. If it smells fishy, it is rancid. Fresh fish oil does not smell. Rancid fish oil is in the same category as trans fat, not a beneficial food for the body.

Cholesterol does not need to be eaten, because the liver and other tissues can manufacture cholesterol from saturated fats. make the hormones that enable us to handle stress and reproduce. The key here is saturated fats in the diet, not trans fats. Saturated fats include the essential fatty acids found in avocado, flax seeds, chia seeds and fresh fish oil.

There is a natural solution to help repair cholesterol issues regardless if the levels are high or low. Levels that are too low will prevent your body from manufacturing sex hormones resulting in fatigue, infertility and impotency. Various alternative approaches to repairing cholesterol issues range from dietary and lifestyle changes to natural whole food support for the liver, gall bladder and digestive system.

Another solution is Alkalized Antioxidant Rich Water:  Alkalized water is the most hydrating water there is. This water tastes different and hydrates the body easier and faster than other waters. The high level of  antioxidants in this water when it is fresh make it beneficial for both the inside of the body, and the outside. Drinking this water allows the digestive system to become properly hydrated, which improves digestion and fat metabolism. TLC offers FREE samples of this water for 21 days on a trial basis. To learn more contact Dr. Yale today at (734) 664 - 0339

Running Out of Energy? by Dr. Carol Ann Fischer, DC

Running out of energy refers to a condition where you keep pushing your body to go, or you feel like you have no motivation to do anything. This is not a reference to making sure that you have eaten a sufficient quantity of food or need better goals. Low or no energy refers to the reduced function of the hormonal system to generate energy.

The job of the hormonal system is to activate your entire body and keep it going all day. A normally functioning hormonal system would enable you to easily jump out of bed in the morning. How many of you have to drag your body out of bed and get a stimulant like a cup of coffee in order to function? If you are tired in the morning and/or need caffeine to get going, your hormones are not working well.

If you experience fatigue after lunch or midday, or reach for something sweet to eat to get some energy, your hormones are not functioning normally. Your hormonal system should be providing your body with energy all day, and allow you to relax and sleep at night. If you are having any difficulty getting to sleep, staying asleep or waking up frequently during the night, your hormonal system is out of balance.

In addition to fatigue, the other indicators of a hormonal system that needs help include, sugar and/or salt cravings, weight gain, pain, hair thinning or loss, cold hands and feet and feeling stressed or overwhelmed. Stress is one of the major reasons that the hormonal system fails to do its job.

Too much stress can play havoc with the hormonal system. Ongoing or chronic stress adversely affects your ability to make the hormones needed for daily function. The stress response of the body burns out over time causing fatigue, insomnia, altered mood, lack of motivation, poor digestion, decreased sex drive, irritability, depression, sugar cravings, chronic pain, inability to stay asleep, osteoporosis, weight gain, and more symptoms.

There is a natural solution to help repair hormonal imbalance regardless of the stage of hormonal function your body is in. Various alternative approaches to repairing hormonal imbalances range from dietary and lifestyle changes to natural hormonal support. Consult a holistic wellness physician to find out more about your hormones, what stage of hormonal function your body is in, and what can be done to rejuvenate your energy.

If you feel that you are dragging your body around or have difficulty getting motivated  there is a natural solution available. Get checked by Dr. Sherry Yale, DC at TLC Holistic Wellness in Livonia, MI if you are not sure if your hormones are working correcttly or not.  Dr Yale uses a simple, non-invasive method called NRT or Nutrition Response Testing to evaluate what your individual body needs are, and what your body wants.

Real Sweets for Your Sweetie by Dr. Carol Ann Fischer, DC

Sweets are often given to show others how much we care about them.  Show your affection by giving the gift of sweets with real ingredients. There are many different types of sweeteners available today, from natural to man-made synthetics.

Most processed foods now contain some form of sweetener. Corn is used to make sweeteners because it is cheaper and twice as sweet as table sugar. It is absorbed only 40% as quickly as glucose and causes only a modest rise in blood sugar. Corn has been altered to make high fructose corn syrup (HFCS), fructose, sorbitol, xylitol, fructose, sweet & low, sucrose, malto-dextrin, poly dextrose, inositol, and saccharin. The average person today consumes 60 pounds of HFCS, which is approximately 19% of the average person's diet.

This man-made HFCS has replaced sugar as the sweetener in many beverages, candy and foods such as breads, cereals, breakfast bars, luncheon meats, yogurts, soups and condiments. Other man-made sugars to avoid include Sucralose or Splenda and Aspartame, also known as Amino-sweet or Nutra-sweet. Aspartame is a genetically engineered sugar that has been linked to several severe degenerative diseases.

Man-made sugars are causing health issues and creating hidden food allergies. The three most common food allergens are wheat/gluten, dairy and corn. Of the three food allergens, corn is the only food that is used to make sweeteners. For those with corn sensitivities, eating sweets made from corn can be the cause of many undesirable health issues.

Many digestive issues, migraines and headaches, brain fog, aches and pains, chronic sinus congestion and asthma/allergies are related to hidden food allergies. Simple non-invasive nutrition testing can help determine hidden food allergies and effectively aid in creating a program to successfully reduce many unwanted health conditions.

Show your sweetie how much you really care by giving real sweets. Look for sweet treats that are not made from corn with high fructose corn syrup or vanillin flavoring (artificial vanilla), or artificial sweeteners. Good sweets have real flavorings, real sugar and real ingredients. Most of the better  sweets are available in local health food stores and specialty shops.

If you feel that your body is craving sugar or has difficulty handling sugar, or you are not sure if you have a food allergy or sensitivity to sugar, there is a natural solution available to help find out how sugar is affecting your body.. Get checked by Dr. Sherry Yale, DC at TLC Holistic Wellness in Livonia, MI if you are not sure if your body is handling sugar correcttly or not.  Dr Yale uses a simple, non-invasive method called NRT or Nutrition Response Testing to evaluate what your individual body needs are, and what fats your body wants.

If you live in any of the surrounding cities of Detroit including Farmington, Farmington Hills, Bloomfield Hills, Novi Redford etc. contact Dr. Yale today at (734) 664 - 0339 to schedule your no charge initial consultation and screening evaluation to determine if your body needs any help handling sugar.

Dr. Yale welcomes her patients with open arms. She is willing to take the time to really listen to what her patients have to say so that they can work together to get to the root of the issue.
Her chiropractic adjustments and nutrition testing are as close to Dr. Fischer’s as I believe you can get and the care and compassion she shows her patients is second to none!
I have now been seeing Dr. Yale for about 6 months and I am 100% back to the level of health I was before Dr. Fischer left. Stop Buying Bottled Water

Stop Buying Bottled Water In DetroitAttention all Novi, Bloomfield Hills, Farmington, Livonia and other  bottled water drinkers: there is a better way to support our personal health and Michigan's beautiful landscape and lakes.

Our body is 70% water, so the type of water consumed definitely influences health, as well as our Michigan environment.

Problems With Commonly Used Waters

Tap water

Tap water

Tap water is a healthier option than soft drinks. But according to the Environmental Working Group, there have been 315 pollutants found in America's tap water since 2004, and over half of these pollutants are completely unregulated and can legally exist in any amount.
At the current levels of contamination, the public is starting to question the quality of tap water and wonders if it is safe enough to drink. Based on these facts, it's no wonder that the demand for Kangen Water® is constantly increasing.

The best-selling bottled waters in Livonia like Fiji, Dasani, and Aquafina are not as pure as you might believe. Many brands of bottled water available in Detroit actually come from municipal water sources from the Detroit River.
Bottled water

Bottled water

Bottled water is not necessarily healthier than tap water and yet it costs much more! Although associated with healthy water, bottled water is not guaranteed to be any healthier than tap water. Often the only difference is the added minerals which have no proven health benefits.
A four-year study by the Natural Resources Defense Council shows that 1/3 of the bottled water tested contains levels of contamination which exceed allowable limits. Bottled water can also be slightly acidic, which may affect your body's pH balance. Finally, the environmental impact caused by the production and disposal of plastic bottles is harmful to our ecosystem.

Reverse osmosis water

Reverse osmosis water

Reverse Osmosis is a filtering process which may be effective in areas that do not receive municipally treated water and is commonly used in bottled water facilities. The problem with this process is that dangerous chemicals like pesticides, herbicides, and chlorine are molecularly smaller than water and can pass freely through the filter. Reverse osmosis removes healthy, naturally occurring water minerals. These minerals not only provide good taste, they also serve a vital function in the body's system. When stripped of these minerals, water can be unhealthy. Also, 2-3 gallons of water are wasted for every gallon of purified water produced.
Enagic USA manufacturers Kangen Healthy Water machines that transform your Bloomfield HIlls, Farmington HIlls, Livonia, Novi and all city tap water into healthy alkaline water.
Michigan bottled water drinkers buy a disposable container that clogs Detroit landfills. The bottles that never make it to Michigan landfills clutter Livonia streets, Bloomfield HIlls sidewalks, and Novi, Farmington Hills and others parking lots.
Cleaning up our beautiful Michigan communities is a great reason to create your own healthy Kangen water® using your Bloomfield HIlls, Farmington HIlls, Livonia, Novi and city tap water, but your family’s health and well-being is equally important. You can process your own water with this device, turning tap water into the best drinking water for our health.
Call TLC Holistic Wellness today (734) 664 - 0339 to learn why Kangen's alkaline water is the healthiest water for Michigan water drinkers, and how you can try this water FREE for 30 days. Call (734) 664 - 0339 to find out when you can get some of this healthy water.
