Help Give Thanks and Feed 1000 Families

Giving Thanks

Giving thanks starts with self. Each person must be grateful for what he/she has as a person, not just in
the material sense. Everyone has a health journey and spiritual path that starts with self-enlightenment.

It is said that one must love oneself before one can love others. The most common error we make in
life is to fail to recognize our own abilities and accept our own achievements. Acknowledge yourself for
who you are and what you have accomplished.

Following recognition of self is the gratitude and appreciation that we have for those in our family
who love and support us. We are most thankful for the family ties we have. For some these are their
most important relationships.

Once we acknowledge family, be grateful for the groups we have and are involved with. From our
church groups, to our friends, co-workers and casual acquaintances, we are thankful for the loving
and caring relationships we have created together.

Here at TLC we are thankful for the great support we have had over the years from all the various
groups in our area. Most of all we are thankful for being given the opportunity to both help and to
serve others. We have been blessed with people who have assisted us as we have assisted them. We
are thankful for all the encouragement, guidance and support we have received.

Our greatest thanks goes to all our patients who over the years have blessed us with an incomparable
friendship. At TLC we strive to live up to our name. Our purpose is to provide the highest quality
holistic wellness care to those seeking improved health and vitality; changing lives for the better.

We encourage you to give thanks this holiday season for the family and groups that have influenced
your life. Share with others and help those less fortunate, thereby giving them the opportunity to give
thanks too.

Dole Recalls Spinach in 13 States Due to Salmonella Risk - A Safer Alternative

Posted on  by Dr. Carol Ann Fischer

Salmonella Risk: Dole Recalls Spinach in 13 States

There is a better way than not eating fresh produce to avoid salmonella risk.

Dole Fresh Vegetables is voluntarily recalling bagged spinach distributed in 13 states due to possible salmonella contamination according to a report in USA Today. While no illnesses had been reported, Dole is cooperating with the FDA, a company spokesperson said.

About 2,800 cases or 33,600 bags of spinach from the Dole plant in Springfield, Ohio were involved in the recall. The precautionary recall stems from an "isolated instance" in which a random sample of spinach tested positive for salmonella in a test conducted by the Michigan Agriculture Dept.

Consumers who have the spinach are warned to discard it. The spinach has an expiration date of October 15, 2015. The spinach was distributed in Connecticut, Indiana, Kentucky, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Tennessee and Wisconsin.

Symptoms of salmonella poisoning can include fever, nausea, diarrhea, vomiting or abnormal pain. The illness primarily affects young children, those who are frail and elderly, and people who have a weakened immune system. Instead of risking your family's health or avoiding all spinach, there is a better solution.

Prevention is the best way to never experience salmonella, e-coli and any other food borne illness.
Cleaning all produce and meats using strong acidic water from a Japanese medical device is the best way to safeguard your food, This water has been shown to be clinically effective against food borne bacteria, mold, fungus and viruses. It is even used in Japanese hospitals to clean and sterilize surgical equipment.

Join the hundreds of thousands of people in over 86 countries who use strong acidic water to safeguard their food.  Contact Dr. Fischer from TLC Holistic Wellness in Livonia, Michigan for more information or call (248) 382 - 8668 to learn more and to sample this water.

Read what one former TLC Holistic Wellness patient had to say after visiting Dr. Yale.
"From the moment I met Dr. Yale, before she even adjusted or tested me, I knew this was going to be a great experience and that I was finally going to be back to getting the care I needed. Dr. Yale welcomes her patients with open arms. She is willing to take the time to really listen to what her patients have to say so that they can work together to get to the root of the issue.
Her chiropractic adjustments and nutrition testing are as close to Dr. Fischer’s as I believe you can get and the care and compassion she shows her patients is second to none!
I have now been seeing Dr. Yale for about 6 months and I am 100% back to the level of health I was before Dr. Fischer left. Dr. Yale has a fantastic sense of humor, she brings an extremely personal touch to her practice, and she is the most organized holistic doctor we have met. When I go to see Dr. Yale, it is more like seeing a friend then a doctor.
To say I was ecstatic to hear that Dr. Yale would be taking over TLC Holistic Wellness is a huge understatement. I believe a lot of patients felt the same way about the care they were receiving after Dr. Fischer left TLC.
I urge former patients to come back to TLC now that Dr. Yale is there. You will receive the level of care that kept you coming back to TLC. With Dr. Sherry Yale at the helm, the tender, loving care will now be restored to TLC Holistic Wellness." DD

Estrogen Dominance posted on September 20, 2015 by Dr. Carol Ann Fischer, DC, ND

                                  Estrogen Dominance

Estrogen and progesterone levels must be balanced in order to work together efficiently. Factors such as estrogens in foods and the environment, synthetic hormone use (HRT) and obesity, expose women and men to excess estrogen. Excess estrogen is called Estrogen Dominance.

These are the products that you want to reduce your exposure to if you can. Many of these commercial products contain not only chemicals that act like estrogen, but also chemicals that are carcinogenic. As much as possible replace commercial products with natural products containing ingredients that you recognize and can pronounce.

Chemicals that Act Like Estrogen are Hiding in Your Everyday Products:
Vinyl Flooring
Detergents
Shampoo
Deodorants
Perfumes
Hairspray
Moisturizers
Children’s Toys
Cosmetics
Soap
Plastics
Garden Hoses

In women progesterone levels tend to drop off sooner and more abruptly with age and lack of ovulation than does estrogen. These factors can result in too much estrogen in relationship to the amount of progesterone being produced in the body.

This imbalance is a common cause of symptoms during PMS, peri-menopause, menopause and andropause. It can also occur after childbirth or during periods of high stress when a man or woman undergoes a significant hormonal shift.

Estrogen dominance may be associated with thyroid problems, breast and prostate disease.

Common symptoms include: heavy or irregular periods, tender breasts, bloating, irritability,  PMS, mood swings, weight gain, sleep disturbances, female decreased sex drive, infertility and other symptoms of female hormone imbalance, plus male erectile dysfunction and decreased motivation.

There are simple ways to test for this issue. Saliva testing is the most common way to determine the available hormone levels in the body at the cellular level. Blood testing measures the stored hormone levels. Hormones are stored in the blood on protein molecules. They are only removed from the blood when there is chronic long term stress from hormone imbalance. Blood testing of hormones reveals late stage hormone imbalance, while saliva testing measures what is available now for your body to use.

Visit the store at TLC Holistic Wellness to find out more about the different hormone tests that can be ordered. You can do the simple saliva tests right in the comfort of your own home. Custom tests can also be ordered that include estrogen, progesterone, testosterone, adrenal hormones, food allergens and more. Fruit High in Vit C by Dr. Carol Ann Fischer posted on September 8, 2015

Fruit High in Vitamin C

Vitamin C is the only vitamin that is not stored by the human body. Eat foods rich in Vitamin C daily to help maintain health. Many systems of the body need Vitamin C, including the immune system and hormonal system. Make sure to increase Vitamin C intake when under increased stress. Stress depletes Vitamin C and many other vitamins and minerals.

KIWI: Tiny but mighty. This is a good source of potassium, magnesium, vitamin E & fiber. Its vitamin C content is twice that of an orange.

APPLE: An apple a day keeps the doctor away? Although an apple has a low vitamin C content, it has antioxidants & flavonoids (known as Vitamin P), which enhances the activity of vitamin C thereby helping to lower the risks of colon cancer, heart attack & stroke.

STRAWBERRY: Protective Fruit. Strawberries have the highest total antioxidant power among major fruits & protect the body from cancer-causing, blood vessel-clogging free radicals.

ORANGE : Sweetest medicine. Taking 2-4 oranges a day may help keep colds away, lower cholesterol, prevent & dissolve kidney stones as well as lessens the risk of colon cancer.

WATERMELON: Coolest thirst quencher. Composed of 92% water, it is also packed with a giant dose of glutathione, which helps boost our immune system. It is also a key source of lycopene * the cancer fighting oxidant. Other nutrients found in watermelon are vitamin C & Potassium.

GUAVA & PAPAYA: Top awards for vitamin C. They are the clear winners for their high vitamin C content. Guava is also rich in fiber, which helps prevent constipation. Papaya is rich in carotene; this is good for your eyes.

If you are not sure how much vitamin C you are getting or need, contact Dr. Fischer for a dietary analysis. This can be done by email or phone. Contact Dr. Fischer
