Upper Back Pain

Many patients who come to our TLC Holistic Wellness office suffer from upper back pain. Dr. Carol Ann Fischer provides a wide variety of treatment options, ranging from adjustments and manipulations to massage and herbal remedies. The upper and middle back, also known as the thoracic spine, includes 12 vertebrae, as well as ligaments, muscles and discs, all of which can become misaligned and cause moderate to severe pain for our patients.

The cause of the upper back pain will need to be determined before we can provide the right treatment plan. The following are common causes for upper back pain:

•    Poor posture
•    Injury or muscle strain to the ligament, muscles or discs
•    Herniated disc or other spinal nerve disorders
•    Fracture of the vertebrae
•    Osteoarthritis

We provide various treatment options for upper back pain, including adjustments and manipulations, therapeutic massage as manual therapy, such as mobilization. Here in our Livonia, MI chiropractic practice, we will also give patients recommendations to prevent further injuries to their back including diet and exercise tips, posture advice, and anti-inflammatory medications advice to ease the pain. Visit our website for more information about upper back pain.
